ONE (or two) sentence FILM REVIEWS:
BORAT: This is everything Michael Moore, Al Gore, and any other political documentary filmmaking WISH they could achieve in 90 minutes. Hilarious and subversive. Makes the left and the right look like the idiots they are.
LEMMING: The first half is great, Bergman, Haneke, style build) Hits you with a premise that you'll never be able to latch onto, the Lemmings look really fake, but the Charlottes (Rampling and Gainsbourg) are always fantastic.
THE FAMILY STONE: Very light, entertaining, but this is more TV than film.
LOVERBOY: Kyra Sedgwick is creepy, Bacon's directing is good. This should have remained book only (even though I suspect the book was probably a little too much as well).
MEMOIRS OF A GEISHA: Tried to get through the first fifteen minutes...what a mess. Why are they speaking English? This should have been subtitled. Watching these brilliant actors struggle to speak in their second or third language isn't fair to them or the viewer. Every word takes you out of the film.
TELL ME DO YOU MISS ME: The Luna Documentary is perfect. This is how a music documentary should be. Nothing felt forced or too sentimental (just like Luna's music).
VISITOR Q: wtf?
